LEMON & LAVENDER SOAP

To make approximately 5 bars of soap you will need:

450g Shea butter soap base, cubed
Zest of 1 lemon, dried
Handful of dried lavender buds
Rubbing alcohol (in spray bottle)
Large microwave-safe bowl
Spoon
Whisk
Essential oils (lavender and lemon)
Soap mould (I got mine HERE)

Start off by spraying some of the rubbing alcohol onto the soap mould. This helps to reduce the air bubbles that appear when your soap is poured and setting.
Place your Shea butter soap base into a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave for approx 1 minute and 30 seconds. Make sure to mix the soap base every 30 seconds until it has completely melted.
When the soap has completely melted, add 10-15 drops of your essential oils, half of the lemon zest and half of the lavender buds.
Carefully whisk the soap until it is well combined. Be careful not to create too many bubbles at this stage!
You have to be quick at this stage as the soap tends to harden quite quickly! Pour the soap into the silicone soap moulds and spray the tops with more rubbing alcohol to get rid of the bubbles.
After you have sprayed the rubbing alcohol, sprinkle the remainder of the lemon zest and lavender onto the tops of the soap and leave to set.
Leave the soap to set overnight (or place in freezer after 20 minutes for 2 hours)
Remove the soaps from the moulds and you're good to go!

Add a personalised bit of packaging and this soap makes a great little gift for friends and loved ones (or even just to use for yourself!).
